According to the Pancreatic Action Network pancreatic cancer is the only cancer among the top five cancer killers that our nation has yet to make significant progress towards increasing the survival rate. The five-year survival rate when we started doing our Walk, has pretty much remained constant around the 7-13% ratem- inching up about a percentage point or two each year. That's progress, albeit slow. Research is critical and donations from fundraising efforts like our family's Walk will help raise the percentage.
