Welcome to our team fundraising page!

Dear Family, Friends & Loved Ones,

Many of you know I lost my mother, Maria "Lupe" Rin to pancreatic cancer on Thanksgiving Day in 2011. The grieving process was non-existent until several years after. I can honestly say, I feel like I didn't quite process it all until January 2022 on a trip back to her motherland, Mexico. I always wanted to believe what I often heard others say, "It gets better with time." In my experience, it got harder with time. I'm here to tell you, I'm grateful for those hard times. I am a firm believer that God wouldn't put us through any obstacles that we are not strong enough to handle. And thank God that my mother's strength was passed onto me!

I am striding at PurpleStride San Francisco 2023 at Crissy Field on Saturday, April 29, 2023. PanCAN PurpleStride is a walk to end pancreatic cancer and the #1 way PanCAN raises funds to fight the disease. I continue to do this year after year as a way to honor my mother. I also help support fellow caregivers, family members and friends of those that are suffering from the disease to let them know that it may not get easier or better with time, but that there's a community to support them on this difficult journey.

My strides have hit the pavement from Sacramento to Brooklyn to SF and my hometown, Oakland, to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer. It would be an honor to have you stride with me in SF this year! Let's stride to RISE above cancer!!! Just click the "Join This Team" button below to register.

Sending you & yours so much love,

Arikka
