Welcome to our team fundraising page!

Team Imagineers United walks in honor of Betty Brooks, Jon Margolis, Jim Takacs, Norman Cordeiro, and Barry Brooks.

We have raised over $298,086 since 2011.  Last year, we were the 1st Place fundraising team in Boston totaling $41,752. We want to exceed that total this year.

Team History:

Team Imagineers United was formed by Alison Takacs, in memory of her husband Jim, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2008, six and a half months after diagnosis, at the way too young age of 47, leaving behind Alison and two young daughters, ages 8 and 10 at the time. Since then, Alison and her daughters have been tireless advocates for pancreatic cancer awareness and research, making our team a top fundraiser for many years running.

In 2015, the Takacs family moved south to begin a new chapter in their lives. Alison has passed the Boston fundraising torch to her fellow teammates, all of us united in having lost family members and friends to this lethal illness, and all of us imaginers in that we can envision a world where pancreatic cancer will no longer be a death sentence and are willing to work toward that day. We hope you will join us!

Alison continues to run the Southern chapter of Imagineers United.  Steve Brooks took over the Boston chapter in 2015.  We re-united in Boston for the 15th anniversary of Jim's passing in 2023.  2022 was the 25th year of Betty's passing.
