We are walking in memory of our mom Barbara Speck.  She lost her battle against Pancreatic Cancer in December of 2016 and she is very missed by all who knew her.  Like so many others suffering from this disease she was much too young and had too little time. I want to help bring new, effective treatments to patients and give them all the support they need.  Taking steps at PurpleStride is a fantastic way to do that since it’s the number one way we raise funds to fight the disease.

Through the years since her death, we have seen new treatments get approved, new methods for early detection, and the survival rate has increased from 7% to 12%.  While this may not seem large - it is huge to those survivors.   The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network funds grants to scientists and doctors researching early detection methods and better treatment options.
