#LIVELIKELARRY!  I know in my heart that Larry would want us to continue supporting the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.  Purple Stride is an incredible community celebration and centerpiece for the PanCAN family.  In 2011 when Larry and I first walked in Purple Stride Indianapolis, we had no idea where our journey would take us or how long it would last.  At that time, the 5-year survival rate for those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer was just 5%.  Today that has risen to 13% but there is much work still to be done.  Pancreatic cancer is the No. 3 leading cause of cancer-related death, and it is predicted to become the No. 2 leading cause.  For 11 years, I watched and listened as Larry met, counseled and encouraged individuals diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  He gave them hope and an example of how to live in the face of this dreaded disease.  I also lost my younger brother to pancreatic cancer in 2015.  Neal's goal was to live like Larry, but he survived just 6 months after diagnosis. Though Larry did not die from pancreatic cancer, every day of his life was impacted by the disease.  We raise funds to give hope and support to others who find themselves with pancreatic cancer.
