Beating PanCan for Penny
My mother, Penny, was diagnosed with pancreatic adenocarcinoma cancer in October 2019, and was actively fighting the disease through various chemotherapy treatments, an extensive whipple surgery, and clinical trials since then in Chattanooga, Atlanta, and Nashville. Penny passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family in August 2021 shortly after making the decision to discontinue active treatment. My mom continued to be the purest form of herself throughout her cancer journey -- showering us with kindness, being entirely selfless, showing bravery, and maintaining her independent spirit. We will continue to honor her legacy by raising awareness and funding for pancreatic cancer research, in hopes of finding a cure in our lifetime.
My husband Michael and I will be walking in the Nashville PanCan PurpleStride on April 27 in my mom’s name to support PanCan research. We’ve experienced the aggressive nature of this disease, and hope with more research that additional treatment options will be discovered. By making a donation, you are helping to advance research, support patients, and create hope for those fighting pancreatic cancer. Thank you for helping us bring awareness and funding to this disease in honor of my mom and her incredible fight.
