In Star Trek, Space was seen as "The Final Frontier" but for so many afflicted by Pancreatic Cancer, that diagnosis and what tomorrow may bring is often feels more vast than space itself. That's why the crew of the U.S.S. Charter Oak (NCC-63545) has pledged to fight Pancreatic Cancer by teaming up with PanCAN and PurpleStride Connecticut.

While this vessel may be fictional, the organization represented - STARFLEET: The International Star Trek Fan Association - is anything but. As members of STARFLEET, the crew of the U.S.S. Charter Oak (NCC-63545) shares in the vision originally created by Star Trek Creator, Gene Roddenberry, back in the 1960's of a world without hunger or disease. Sadly, we are not there yet. The world is still ravaged by the multitude of cancers; one of which is Pancreatic Cancer.

Help us take steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 27, 2024 in Hartford, Conn. This is one of nearly 60 different walks around the United States on the same day, and our group, Team Trek Connecticut, came about after seeing members of Star Trek join forces in Los Angeles to walk in memory and honor of those affiliated with the amazing Science Fiction Franchise that have been afflicted with Pancreatic Cancer. We celebrate the inspiration that is Kitty Swink and her nearly 2-decades of surviving this cancer. We remember Star Trek Show Runner, Manny Coto, who passed away from Pancreatic Cancer in 2023. We walk for everyone who can no longer walk because of Pancreatic Cancer. We walk to help find a cure!
