Ryan was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just days before his 42nd birthday on March 9, 2018.  He put up a hard fight, but seven weeks later on April 21, 2018, we lost him.  Ryan was a son, brother, husband, father, uncle,and friend.  He left behind his eight year old son Conor and his wife Katie, and his parents, brother, sister, and many friends.  We all miss him every day.

Ryan was very athletic, a distance runner and coach, disc golf player, and loved Lego and all things Star Wars.  He was a Padres fan and cheered for the  Mariners when they weren't playing San Diego. A Seattle resident since 2003,he became a Seahawks and Sounders fan, as well.  He was a special ed teacher and worked with children and high schoolers in the Seattle area; his students loved him.  

Our team name is Ryan's Rebels in honor of his love of Star Wars.  In the words of Yoda, "When gone am I, the last of Jedi you will be."  In Ryan's memory, we are committed to fighting the Dark Side--pancreatic cancer.
