Our team wants to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and we need you to do it! Why you ask? Because this horrible disease took my dad. It happened so fast. One minute we are celebrating Christmas and the next, my dad is in the hospital and a few days later home on hospice. For a few months my dad wasn't feeling right. More tired than normal, occasional abdominal pain. It wasn't until his leg swelled and his doctor told him to go to urgent care that we discovered he had a blood clot and a mass on his pancreas. My heart shattered at that moment, knowing all to well what was coming next. Pancreatic Cancer. There was no time for further tests, treatment options, or time to process. My dad spent his final days at home surrounded by his family before he passed on January 16, 2024. Sharing the news with friends, the common comments I heard, after the inital shock, was "your dad had the best smile/laugh", "your dad was so funny", "your dad was such a good guy". Whether they met him once or knew him a lifetime he had the same impact on people everywhere he went. We were all robbed of time due to this horrible disease and it's time to fight back.

We’re taking steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.
