Welcome to our team fundraising page!

I can’t believe he’s been gone six years. We lost Eddie in January 2018 after a 20 month battle with pancreatic cancer. He loved superheroes - all of them, and he became a real life superhero himself as he fought this terrible disease. He’ll live forever in our hearts and minds with so many treasured memories. Hamner’s Superheroes is dedicated to him and to his memory.

I took this picture of Eddie in September of 2017 while we were in the waiting area for his trial immunotherapy treatment - this was his last resort treatment after Whipple surgery, chemotherapy and radiation had all failed to stop his vicious cancer.  Oh yes, he wore this hat in public - in fact this hat and many others, because he loved them. He NEVER thought he would succumb to cancer.  He did - just a few months later.

Pancreatic cancer is the 3rd leading cause of cancer related death in the US and has the lowest 5 year survival rate of all major cancers, at just 13%. This is a terrible, terrible disease and what it does to a person is unimaginable.

Team Hamner's Superheroes was formed to help support the patients that have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and their families and to eventually end pancreatic cancer altogether. If you are able, please help by joining our team or making a donation today. Any amount would be appreciated.

Every dollar that you donate ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to create better outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating to our team, you are supporting vital efforts to increase the pancreatic cancer survival rate.

Please join us in the fight today.

Thank you - the family of Eddie Hamner
