Hey y’all-

Join me on April 27 to help raise money towards research for the detection and treatment of pancreatic cancer.  The walk itself is short and flat (about a mile) so an easy trek for the kids who might want to join and it is along the water near Carson Beach in Boston. Strollers are allowed, but not pups.

You all know we lost my dad this past summer to pancreatic cancer, and some of you may also know that our family had previously lost two of his cousins to the same disease. Watching such a strong and independent man decline so quickly was devastating, but unfortunately this is the norm for this diagnosis. Did you know that pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all of the types of cancer? It is rare to diagnose it in the earlier, more treatable stages and long term (5 year) survival rates are abysmal by the time most folks do get diagnosed.
