Julia Leyva

Wife, mother, grandmother, sister aunt. Julia was known for her upbeat personality, positive attitude and her famous contagious laugh. Her positive persona, resiliency and faith is what propelled her forward in fighting the typical short prognosis that metastatic adenocarcinoma Pancreatic cancer brings. Julia was diagnosed in May 2022, she lived well nearly two more years after her diagnosis, beating the odds of a shorter prognosis that is typically 6 months or less. She traveled, ate delicious foods, and participated in many fun family events during those years following her diagnosis. She enjoyed traveling around the world and going on dinner dates with her husband Sergio and children. She loved taking her granddaughters on shopping dates and movie nights. Julia was loved by so many people around her, had tons of close friends. Julia continues to be deeply loved and missed. Her family will continue to honor her !

Having cared for my mother during very difficult times as a hospice nurse I know first hand how the disease can affect not only the patient but those close to them. Let’s walk in hopes to end this horrible fast growing aggressive disease.

I understand that we are all trying our best to survive and make ends meet, while we don’t ask for huge donations or a donation at all. anything counts even 1$. Although the walk is sponsored , 1$ can help those without health insurance, in financial stress, and with lack of resources obtain the care they need to care and fight this disease.
