Thank you for supporting team Jog for Joe and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network through PurpleStride Philadelphia 2024! We are striding and fundraising in honor of our father, Joe Schickling, who was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in August of 2013. After a long, hard, and incredibly strong battle, our father passed away in April of 2015, at the young age of only 53.

Pancreatic Cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers - just 13% survive five years. In the US in 2024, the American Cancer Society estimates 66,440 people will be diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, and approximately 51,750 will die from the disease. Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
