     First and foremost I want to thank everyone whose fighting for this cause. A little back story…my mom, Fide, was one of the lucky ones. She went through whipple surgery, a lung resection, 2 rounds of chemo and 1 round of radiation because of Pancreatic Cancer. She managed to not only live nearly 5 years with this disease but she lived them well. She was generally healthy and happy for most of this time. For that my siblings and I are eternally grateful to God and her amazing medical care. Fide passed on April 22, 2022 from this disease and for a while I was mad at the world. I personally never wanted to hear the word cancer again. We are approaching 2 years since my mother’s passing and my outlook has changed a bit. My mom was a vibrant, compassionate and intelligent woman full of so much love and life even during her cancer battle. It would be wrong of me not to spread her message or faith, love and hope to anyone struggling with pancreatic cancer and any other ailment. My family and friends want to walk in honor of her and to spread awareness that pancreatic cancer does not win. Everyday theres more advancement. My mom lived almost 5 years with this disease with a great quality of life and the mission is that people with this disease and there loved ones will find hope, live longer and happier lives than they ever thought until one day this thing is beat. My family and friends are walking in honor of my mother Fidelia and my Uncle Luis, her brother who also fought the good fight against this disease and passed on February 12th, 2024. Two people who were vibrant and full of so much love and life to give this world. Our hope is that there battles against this disease were not in vain and people can draw strength and courage from there stories to fight and beat the crap out of Pancreatic Cancer.
