Purple Stride Walk for Pancreatic Cancer
You’ve Got to Go!
It is hard to believe Mike that over 15 months have passed since pancreatic cancer robbed family and friends of Mike Shea’s energy and passion for life. Mike’s faith in God; love for Lynne, Nic, Logan and Kaitlyn; and his zeal for running, hiking and pickleball serve as a daily reminder to focus on what matters.
Since Mike's passing we realized how many people have been impacted by this disease. Sadly, the common thread is no warning and it was too late for treatment. This fundraiser is about honoring all of those who have lost their battle to pancreatic cancer.
Mike’s lifelong faith in God provided him the grace needed to accept his terminal diagnosis. His strength in those five tough weeks was remarkable. Those of us who loved him should continue to fight against this disease. On Saturday, April 27, The Shea Way team will take steps to end pancreatic cancer by participating in the PanCAN PurpleStride.
Family and friends across the United States may join The Shea Way team and participate from any location. On Saturday, April 27, the family welcomes anyone to join their PurpleStride walk in Jefferson City, starting at 8 a.m. from Yanis Coffee Zone, 130 East High Street. We will walk to Immaculate Conception Church and back. A 2.2 mile walk, round trip.
PanCAN PurpleStride raises money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients. Last year The Shea Way team finished fifth in country by raising over $17,000. Truly amazing! We were all humbled by your support.
Our goal for the 2024 walk is $17,001. The more money we raise, the greater impact we have in Mike’s honor.
PanCAN PurpleStride is for everyone and we would love for you to join our team! Just click the Register button at the top of this page to participate and/or donate. Anyone who registers as a team member and donates $50 or more will receive an official PanCAN PurpleStride 2023 T-shirt!
