Welcome to Florida Blue's PanCAN PurpleStride Team!


On Thursday, February 9, 2024, we lost Florida Blue's West Region Market President, David Pizzo.

Dave Pizzo was wholly devoted to his family and Florida Blue. In true Dave fashion, he fought a selfless and valiant battle with pancreatic cancer a year after being diagnosed. He personified the mantra, “the West Coast is the best coast,” encouraging everyone in our region to reach his or her highest potential.

As we collectively mourn this unimaginable loss, let us unite in purple power to support Dave’s legacy by joining Team Florida Blue at this year’s PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Steinbrenner Field.

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
