On Father's Day 2018, our mother was taken to ER due to stomach pains. She initially thought it was bad indigestion that wasn't going away with medication. A CT scan was done & a mass was located on her pancreas. 2 weeks later a biopsy was performed & she was officially diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Our mother endured countless hospital stays, tests & one chemo treatment before we were told those dreaded words, "there's nothing more that can be done". Those are words that no one should have to hear. We brought her home on hospice on Sept 11th & she lost her battle with this awful disease on Sept 18, 2018, one day before my birthday. 

My sister & I felt we had to do something to honor our mother. We had to find a way to turn this tragedy into something positive, to not allow our mother's fight against this horrible disease to be in vain. Out of the pain from the loss of our beautiful & beloved mother, we've decided to form this team to help raise money to further efforts to raise awareness, find better ways to detect this disease in the earlier stages & ultimately find a cure for pancreatic cancer. 

Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 10%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination.
