Welcome to the “Diane’s Diamonds” Team page! Thank you so much for visiting this team page. There are several ways you can help this cause:
- If you'd like to walk and raise money, you can "join team"
- If you'd like to walk, donate money but not fundraise - you can just donate to anyone on the team
- If you're not able to walk, but would like to donate, you can just donate to anyone on the team.
(Basically, you don't have to "join the team" unless you'd like to help with fundraising. You can still do the walk without joining the team! )
This is an event dedicated to a very missed mother/grandmother/sister/aunt/friend, Diane Farmer (MacMullen). Diane was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2022 and passed away less than a month after the initial diagnosis which has shattered our family. It is still hard to believe that this even happened. We miss her every day and we are all in agreement that no one should have to go through what she or we went through during this short time. It's so unfortunate what death can do to a family but that will not stop the fundraising efforts for this awful disease.
We have heard so many similar stories and it is time to find tests to detect it, find a cure and ensure others do not have to endure what we went through. Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 10%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination.
We hope this walk will be a great way for our family and friends to celebrate and remember Diane, who was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Wife, and friend to many.
By joining our team or making a donation, you support the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s world-class programs that are changing lives for all those affected by pancreatic cancer through research, advocacy, patient services and much more.
