Welcome to our team fundraising page!

Family and Friends,

Welcome to Our “We STRiDE for Joc” PanCAN PurpleStride Fundraising Page!

Together with my family in Indiana and California, we’re taking steps to end pancreatic cancer at the PurpleStride 5K on Saturday, April 27, 2024, here in Atlanta.

We’re raising money to help the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network continue to fund vital research that will bring new treatment options to patients and provide hope for more survivors like my baby sister Joc - and we need you to do it!

When Joc’s journey began last August, PanCan was the organization I stumbled upon via a desperate internet search to find answers and survivors. It was the place I turned to for resources and hope and where I met the most compassionate case manager Ericka and our Superpower angel and 8-year survivor Tee who stayed lock step with us on this journey and continues to give Joc support, inspiration and hope at every milestone. Through the help of Ericka, it was PanCan that gave Joc her DreamTeam (aka Healthcare team). Both her exceptional surgeon and oncologist were chosen from resources and data that PanCan provided based on their repositories that track # of surgeries by hospitals, surgeon’s specialties and treatment protocols for pancreatic cancer. Ironically, I was not aware of PanCan (founded in 1999) before now even though my family has been impacted by this disease once before. Emphasizing even more the importance of raising awareness for this disease and the resources that are available to help. In just a two month span of my sister’s diagnosis, I knew of at least 4 other people in my direct network whose family and/or friends were diagnosed with this terrible disease.

PanCan has made significant strides in providing transformative resources to pancreatic cancer patients since their inception, from their research targeting early detection methods as well as precision medicine (even providing free tumor marker testing), immunotherapy protocols, clinical trials, nutritional care, patient & caregiver support groups, educational podcasts in addition to their advocacy on Capitol Hill.

With your help PanCan can continue their efforts to double the survival rate of Pancreatic Cancer patients by 2030.

For that reason, we’ve set an ambitious fundraising goal – because the more money we raise, the bigger impact we can make. We want to see more favorable outcomes like Tee’s and Joc’s. Can we count on you to get us one step closer to the day when pancreatic cancer patients survive and thrive.

There are two ways you can support us: Prayer Warriors in Atlanta - I’d love for you to join our team and walk with us! Just click the Register button at the top of this page to get started. Raise or donate $50 and you’ll receive an official PanCAN PurpleStride 2024 T-shirt!

For those unable to walk or in other cities, I hope you'll find it in your heart to make a tax-deductible donation. Every gift will help patients and their families facing a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

Also, if you’ve said a prayer or positive affirmation on Joc's behalf add (PW) at the end of your Last name when donating. Would love for her to see all the folks supporting her! We are eternally grateful for each of you. Please continue to keep her in your prayers as she progresses in her healing journey.

Now let’s show Joc and everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer that we’re fighting for them!!!
