Welcome to our team fundraising page!

My name is Torina Cook and I live I Huntersville NC .  Currently, I am a Levine Cancer Institute patient with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  I'm 62 years old and after seeing doctors from July 2017 to December 2017 (I have proof...medical documentation). On January 11, 2018 an emergency room doctor was looking for an infection in my stomach after a ct scan....instead he found a tumor on my pancreas.

I have a husband of 31 years...3 adult children and I'm fighting for my life to one day see my baby girl (22) get married and have her first baby. Thanks to the Lord. I was able to see my daughter graduate cum lauded from North Carolina A&T state university in May.  I just was released from cmc main with complications from chemo. My chemotherapy  is aggressive and began in Feb. 2018.  I begin radiation therapy on Monday. As long as I can..I want to be an advocate for pancreatic cancer research and awareness.   I have volunteered to lead a team (team Torina,) for the November 17th pancan walk at Romare Bearden Park.  Since November is pancreatic cancer month.. I would love to share my story.  Aretha Franklin's death bought awareness to this dreadful cancer.   If I can even help one person to get an accurate diagnosis to their medical concerns...it will be worth it.  This is private..but God still has a plan for me and I'm still fighting!

Torina went home to be with the Lord after her aggressive battle ended February 10, 2019. Her family and friends want you to know and remember the beautiful person and spirit that she was to everyone.
