Hello!

Thank you for joining team Rosanna Strong and for becoming part of the fight to end pancreatic cancer at PanCAN PurpleStride on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

We had the privilege of attending this event with Rosanna last year, but this year we will be walking in her honor. Rosanna was successful in her fight for 10 long months, steadfast in her faith and passion for life. She passed on October 22, 2023 at the age of 52.

Pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths and is on track to become the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths before 2030. It has the highest mortality rate of all the major cancers. To date, there are very limited treatment options for individuals with pancreatic cancer that are not candidates for surgical resection. Continued research is needed to expand treatment options and increase survival rate. PurpleStride is the number one way PanCAN raises money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients.

We also walk to honor Umberto Di Loreto, Rosanna’s father who passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 50. 

Our hope is that through fundraising and increased awareness, we can make a
difference in early detection tactics to accelerate treatments for patients with
pancreatic cancer. Together we can make a difference, in honor of Rosanna for those who face a similar diagnosis as she did.
