Dear Friends, Family and MetroHealth Family -

As many of you know, I lost my mother, Leona Pajor Sterbank, to this underfunded and thus under-researched disease now over 13 years ago. She was a long-time Cleveland Public school teacher and a daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.   Her death occurred halfway through my senior year of Med-Peds Residency.  While I was thankful to have her presence at my medical school graduation, there was and remains an obvious void of her physical presence at my residency graduation, subsequent fellowship graduation and life since.  

This will be my 14th PurpleStride in honor of my mom and other family members lost to this disease.  I also continue to honor my friend Kim Seiler who was an amazing friend & colleague who also fought this disease with tremendous strength, courage & grace.

Please consider joining us for the event on April 27, 2023 at the Cleveland Zoo.  It is a walk (previously was a 5k run) and we'd love to have you!  If you are not able to join us in Cleveland, please consider participating in a PurpleStride event near you.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions.
