Welcome to Our PanCAN PurpleStride Team Fundraising Page in Honor of Alicia Caka!

Alicia (my brother and I called her Auntie Siesha) was one of the most kind and giving people you’d have ever met. She made an impact on anyone who was lucky enough to have been graced with her presence. She was truly someone who believed in being kind towards everyone, from all walks of life. 

Sadly, her amazing soul was taken from this world too soon due to pancreatic cancer. A cancer that is usually caught too late and progresses too quickly. Alicia was diagnosed in March 2023 and sadly passed only 6 months after, in September 2023. She tried chemotherapy, but unfortunately her cancer was too aggressive for it. The truth is that scientists and doctors don’t know enough about pancreatic cancer, there isn’t enough research or studies done on it. We don’t have enough treatment options for it. There needs to be better testing and screening to be able to catch it earlier, because most often the cancer has become too aggressive by the time someone shows or feels symptoms. That is what the PANCAN Organization is trying to accomplish. With your donations, the money goes toward furthering research, helping current pancreatic cancer patients with their treatments or other needs that arise from this cancer, as well as survivors of pancreatic cancer. I encourage you to donate in honor of Alicia if you have the means to do so! My family, her friends and loved ones would appreciate it immensely! 

She loved Harry Potter, so my fundraising group is called “Siesha’s Sorcerers” in her honor.

We’re taking steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.
