Two and a half years ago I got a life shattering diagnosis. With an unclear path forward the folks at PanCan.org gave us hope and practical advice about the disease and how to live with it. This event raises funds for that organization to help others who get the diagnosis, and to fund research into finding therapies and cures.

The team name “Team Tom” refers to an inside joke I had with my friend and fellow cancer victim, Mark Mueller. It refers to the host of our weekly support group meeting, Tom Arai. He is a 7 1/2 year survivor and provided us with hope that we could get past the terrible odds we faced. We wanted to be on Team Tom! Luckily for me my cancer had the same characteristics as Tom’s so I made the team! Amazingly my treatments worked and I have had clean scans for the last nine months. 

Sadly Mark did not make the team. He passed away in 2022 and I really miss him. This team is dedicated to him and all those from my support group who we lost from this awful disease.
