Mike was first diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2017 and again in May 2022. Despite fighting with incredible strength and determination, he passed away on September 17, 2022, at just 62 years old.

Mike’s favorite things in life were simple and full of joy — Top Gun, long bike rides, a cold Pepsi, joyrides in his red Jeep Wrangler, and evenings spent watching his kids play soccer. He was a generous father, brother, uncle, and friend who could always make you laugh — the kind of person who made every moment better just by being there.

Through Mike’s courageous battle, his family saw firsthand how devastating and unforgiving pancreatic cancer can be. You can read more about his journey and final months here:

We want to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and we need your help to do that!

TEAM FUHSER has raised over $8,500 for pancreatic cancer research in the past two years!

On April 26, 2025, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will take steps together at nearly 60 PurpleStride events across the nation to honor everyone affected by the disease. It’s an inspirational day to celebrate survivors and honor those we've lost, including Mike.

TEAM FUHSER is comprised of anyone that knew and loved Mike, raising money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients, and gives them free, personalized one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services.
