Pancreatic Cancer - Two words no one should ever have to hear. We heard those words on November 17th, 2020, and we lost Jerry a short 6 days later on November 23rd, 2020. Jerry did not have the typical symptoms of the disease and didn't even show any signs of sickness until that November.
After the diagnosis and for the long days and months following his death, we learned more about this disease than anyone would want to know. Through our research and outreach from friends, we found out about the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org). We were impressed with their work with patients, survivors, and family members, along with their overall advocacy for awareness of this disease. Their hard work on driving awareness, fighting for more research, and their constant push for potential early detection has been amazing!!!
So our team is once again GOING PURPLE FOR JERRY!!! We will be participating annually in their PurpleStride event to help raise funds and promote awareness. We ask for your support on April 27th, 2024 by either 1) joining our team to walk or raise funds, 2) by donating to one of our team members, or 3) by just keeping us in your thoughts that day. We appreciate the support we have received thus far for Jerry, but let us use his memory to benefit others. Let's fight for early detection options and let's fight for those who when one day they also hear those 2 awful words, make it so that there is more hope for treatment and recovery for them.
Thank you on behalf of Jerry and his family!!
