Welcome to Our PanCAN PurpleStride Team Fundraising Page!
Hello!
My team and I are taking steps to end pancreatic cancer at the PanCAN PurpleStride on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
We want to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and we need your help to do that! The federal government is threatening to drastically reduce funds for cancer research, making our contributions more important than ever.
My beloved husband, Dr. Babatunde Ogunnaike, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in late August of 2021 and passed away a mere six months later in February of 2022. He received the best possible care at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center; however, as is often the case, his cancer was not diagnosed until it has metastasized and become resistant to treatment. Ironically, Tunde was working on an NIH study to improve the outcomes of pancreatic cancer treatments. He and our brilliant oncologist spent many hours "talking shop" about his treatment and cancer research.
As my nephew is getting married this year on April 26th, I will not be able to "stride" in person, but my dear friends and fellow Purple Stride Team members will represent Team Tunde in my place. Mrs. Christine Chapman has agreed to be a co-captain this year.
PurpleStride is the number one way PanCAN raises money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients providing free, personalized one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services.
Here’s where you come in! We’ve set an ambitious fundraising goal--$12,000--because the more money we raise, the bigger impact we make – and would appreciate a gift of any size to help us get there.
PanCAN PurpleStride is for everyone, and we’d love for you to join our team! Just click the Register button at the top of this page and follow a few easy steps to get set up. And anyone who registers and raises $50 will receive an official PanCAN PurpleStride 2024 T-shirt! If you are unable to walk with us, please consider making a donation to Team Tunde.
Can we count on you to get us one step closer to the day where pancreatic cancer patients don’t just survive but thrive?
Patients and families need us now more than ever.
Thank you for your support!
