December 7, 2021 was a day that changed our lives. 

Two words: pancreatic adenocarcinoma. And our entire world experienced a seismic shift. 

Surgical resection (robotic whipple procedure), intensive chemotherapy for 6 months and considered cancer free in August 2022, only to have a recurrence a few months later.  Multiple surgeries, ICU/hospital stays, ER visits, countless scans, labs, doctor visits, and ongoing intensive chemotherapy sessions, and she keeps on, keeping on. 

Currently Cat has stage 4 metastatic cancer, and is looking to participate in clinical trials targeting the KRAS G12V gene mutation. She’s traveled and met with doctors locally in southern California, in Utah, and in TX, hoping to participate in a promising trial to eradicate the tumor cells once and for all. 

I’ve been Team Captain for TEAM CAT (CatKingCrusaders) since 2021. We’re striding again this year in order to raise money for research, patients, families, and to inspire hope.

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.
