My mom, Sandy, wasn't feeling well in July 2014. She had back pain but thought she pulled a muscle in yoga and had some digestive issues. My sister and I got to her house to discover she had lost a bit of weight and looked weak. A few minutes later we called an ambulance, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and passed away four days later.
My sister Megan, at the age of 39, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and passed away five weeks later. We are on the cusp of getting better testing for diagnosing pancreatic cancer and coming up with an effective vaccine.
