In loving memory of my beloved husband, Keith Stough, I am proudly participating in the PanCAN PurpleStride event on Saturday, April 26, 2025. As the captain of Team “For the Love of Keith,” I am walking to raise funds and awareness for pancreatic cancer, a disease that took Keith from us far too soon.

On November 27, 2022, my husband of 34 years, the devoted father of our children, and the love of my life, lost his arduous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Keith was diagnosed on September 24, 2022. By the time we learned of his illness, the cancer had already progressed to Stage 4 terminal cancer. Just 31 days after receiving his diagnosis, Keith was placed on hospice care, and 34 days later, we said goodbye.

When we first received the diagnosis, we were told to expect about nine months together. Tragically, Keith had just two months to fight- far too little time for us to process, let alone fully prepare for the pain of losing him. His passing so suddenly has left an indescribable hole in our hearts.

Why I’m Walking: The Importance of PanCAN PurpleStride

PanCAN PurpleStride is the largest fundraising event for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN), supporting vital research to develop new treatments and offering one-on-one patient services for those battling this deadly disease. The cause is personal to me—especially the urgent need for a reliable way to detect pancreatic cancer before it’s too late.
