A few months ago PanCAN posted the below on their Facebook page.  It was truly an honor to have Lillian’s message shared with their community.  Mom and I have been walking and supporting PanaCAN since the year he passed.  Mom had a purple Pancreatic Cancer ribbon on the back of her car and a very kind lady saw it and brought our attention to PanCAN.  We are eternally grateful to this individual for letting us know about this amazing organization.

“In 2012, @sunshinereadswithlil lost her maternal grandfather to #pancreaticcancer, less than 6 months after his diagnosis.

She shares, "The only symptoms he had were back pain and weight loss, but doctors kept pushing it off saying that there was nothing of major concern. It took months for him to get the proper testing and by the time they found the cancer it was already stage 4."

In addition to raising awareness about the disease, Lil and her family participate in #PanCANPurpleStride each year, in honor of her grandfather. She writes, "We will never stop sharing information about pancreatic cancer and pushing for more research funding."
