The Fighting Feavers team was created in 2013 in honor and memory of Steve Feaver. He was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer on January 26th of that year. He fought that disease with strength, courage and most importantly faith for nearly a year. Sadly, he lost his battle on December 11th, 2013. We are continuing his fight by participating in PurpleStride again because we believe that we can make a difference!
This will be our 12th year participating in PurpleStride with the purpose to help raise awareness as well as funds that will advance research and support patients and loved ones who are affected by pancreatic cancer. We are so grateful to all of our family and friends who have helped us in this fight! The Fighting Feavers have been a top fundraising team for the past 10 years raising a collective total of just over $165,500!!! It has been truly amazing and we hope that we will be able to raise even more this year but we need your help now more than ever! Pancreatic cancer doesn't stop or slow down - and neither will our passion for this cause!
Currently the 5-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer is 13%. No other major cancer has a 5-year survival rate less than 20%. When my dad was diagnosed and we started on this journey back in 2013 it was just 6% so our efforts are definitely paying off! There is more hope than ever before, but there is still a lot more work to be done. Pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer related deaths. This deadly disease needs more awareness and it desperately needs a cure.
Every dollar you donate ensures that Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to create better outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families.
Please make a donation today and help us reach our goal!
