RUDY was diagnosed with a very large stage three locally advanced tumor in the head of his pancreas on March 17, 2022. We were told it was non-operable and he proceeded to stay positive and surround himself with a community of praying friends and family as he pursued chemotherapy and radiation to extend his life. Nine months later, just before Christmas, Dr. Hodul, a surgeon at Moffitt, called us and said “I think we may be able to get this tumor out now”. After a scary consent process, full of unknowns, as well as the longest day ever, Rudy survived the Whipple surgery. 

We never stopped praying, and he never stopped pushing himself with as much exercise and nutrition as he could tolerate.  He walked our oldest daughter down the aisle, just two months after the Whipple. 

**He is now a survivor at 2 1/2 years post Whipple.**

Today he is not only back to his vibrant life, helping patients at his physical therapy practice, but he went on to get a total hip replacement this year and is golfing and playing tennis and pickleball and loving life.  We are so grateful to God for this miracle and have so much hope to share!  We are also told that the research and treatment regimens have already changed for the better in just two years! Research dollars mean so much in the cancer world.
