In 2006, at the age of 37, Scott was diagnosed with stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. Without surgery, Scott was given 18 months to live. With the support of his family and medical advances, Scott lived 9 years after his diagnosis.

Scott was an avid motorsports lover and engineer. He was a successful drag racer, winning two Division 3 NHRA Drag Racing Championships. He was an incredible wheel designer and developer, creating the Delta 1 & V-Series wheels. Scott was a proud dad to Garrett, a USAC Quarter Midget Champion, and Griffin, a NHRA Junior Dragster Champion.
