Hello Friends and Family, 

I'm celebrating a new year of living . . . this will be year 4 for me, so I'm hoping to beat the odds and make it to 5 years and beyond. I'm so grateful for the past year of joyful living and for all of your love, kindness and generosity. 

This year I'm even more motivated to ensure that everyone possible knows how to recognize the signs of PC and can help protect their family friends and acquaintances with increased awareness. AND this year, I was so deeply touched when our tax accountant shared the loss of their dear father from PC. His story is below. 

(Debbie's story) "My father, Ron, began complaining of stomach, chest and back pain in October '24. We encouraged him to see his Primary Care physician which he did. His doctor said he had acid reflux and prescribed Pepcid AC. 

His symptoms became worse by the day and after a few weeks, he went to the ER. Subsequent scans and biopsies confirmed he had Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer which had spread throughout his liver. 

He moved in with me. I cared for him for 5 short weeks and he passed just before Christmas. This happened so quickly and so unexpectedly that I am still reeling with the grief and sorrow of his passing. Looking back, I can see there were other signs that he was not well, but I did not have the knowledge or awareness of all the symptons of Pancreatic Cancer. I wish that his physician would have been more proactive and would have reached out to us to help my father sooner. Awareness of this disease seems critical to me, from a physician, patient and family's perspective."
