Welcome to Daniel’s Legacy Team Fundraising Page!
On Saturday, April 26th, 2025, we will be making our strides in the Pancreatic Cancer Action Networks annual PurpleStride Fundraiser to honor our extraordinary father and husband, Daniel Bamidele, who sadly passed away on August 17th, 2024, from this dreadful disease
As it so happens, this event falls on what would have been his 70th birthday. For those of you lucky enough to have known or met my dad, is to know that he was a faith-filled, and kindhearted man. He lived a life of service. Generously giving his time, resources and more to whomever was in need. He dedicated his life to serving others; generously giving whatever he could to whomever needed it. We couldn’t imagine another way to pay homage to him and his memory but by giving back and fighting for the advancement of those facing adversities.
Pancreatic cancer is the tenth most diagnosed type of cancer. But with no standard diagnostic tools or method created to detect this cancer earlier on, it is often discovered by medical professionals during its last stage (Stage IV). Resulting in it being the third leading cause of cancer related deaths in the US. As of now, 80% of all pancreatic cancer research is directly funded by the federal government. The current administration has proposed a new bill that would severely defund current and new research endeavors to fight against cancer. Sadly, Congress passed this bill; slashing funding to all cancer projects by 57%! Repercussions from this bill will lead to an imminent disruption of ongoing projects; creating uncertainty, jeopardizing funding for cancer centers; halting of various lifesaving medical research and clinical trials.
So, here’s where you come in. A donation of any size to PanCAN will have a tremendous and long-lasting impact on the lives of the patients and families facing this diagnosis.
Want to make an even bigger impact? We’d love for you to join our team! PanCAN Purple Stride is for everyone. Register for free by clicking the “Register” button at the top right corner of the page.
The fight against pancreatic cancer must not be stalled any further. So let us show our support to all those impacted by this heartbreaking disease that we’re here with them, standing on all sides, ready and willing to fight for a cure.
