Welcome to Our PanCAN PurpleStride Team Fundraising Page – In Memory of Jerome “Jerry” Hobbs
Our team is walking with love and purpose in memory of my Dad, Jerome “Jerry” Hobbs – a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, faithful believer, and Georgia boy through and through – who passed away on August 8, 2024, after his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Dad's story was rooted in love and filled with life. Born in Atlanta and raised in Georgia, he met the love of his life, my Mom Teresa, at Jonesboro High School when they were just teenagers. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with family, laughter, faith, and more Braves and Bulldogs games than most people see in a lifetime. Whether he was on a beach, at a ball field, or singing in the church choir, Jerry brought joy, warmth, and a good story to everyone around him.
He was hardheaded and loud, sure – but even more so, he was kind, funny, and full of heart. He never met a stranger, only future friends. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and his greatest desire was for others to know God’s love and grace – a message he shared in both word and song.
We miss him dearly, and we walk in his name to honor the love he gave, the light he brought, and the fight he faced.
That’s why we’re coming together on Saturday, April 26, 2025, for PanCAN PurpleStride – the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.
