Walk with us in support of John Belechak- better known as Guppy!
On September 30th, 2024, our family got news that flipped our world on it's head when our dad, Guppy, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Our family went into action and quickly assembled a team of the best and brightest doctors our city offers.
Guppy has been in various treatments since October, including chemotherapy and a clinical trial, and continues to remain a fighter!
Not every day is easy, but his faith and family remain at the very center of his fight.
Pancreatic cancer is silent and sneaky… until it isn't. It's known to be one of the most difficult cancers to detect and often doesn't show symptoms until it has already progressed, as was the case with Gup.
Our family wants to do everything in our power to raise awareness about this cancer to increase early detection and funding available for research. We can't begin to express our gratitude for the ways our village has showed up to support and fight alongside us.
We are asking for your continued support as we walk together to help put an end to pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.
PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
