Welcome to my family’s PanCAN PurpleStride Team Fundraising Page!
My name is Brian Sheehan, and it is my honor to return as emcee for PanCAN Purple Stride Philadelphia for the fourth year.
Pancreatic cancer has had a devastating impact on my family. My grandmother, Betty Sheehan, passed away in 2002. We lost my Uncle Bob Carpenter in 2015, and then my Uncle Myles McDonnell in 2017.
All three died within six months of their diagnosis. None were related.
They are so much more than their battle. My grandmother was a devoted wife and stay-at-home mom who raised 13 children in Warminster, Bucks County. My Uncle Bob was a loving husband and trusted businessman, who owned and operated Oreland Hardware in Montgomery County for nearly 30 years. My Uncle Myles loved helping his community in his role as volunteer firefighter.
Even though they wore the armor, they each had an army of people behind them while they fought the biggest battle of their life.
They may have lost their battle, but they are still very much loved and remembered each and every day.
So, I hope you will support my family and I, the aptly named McCarpShee Warriors, as we take steps this year to end pancreatic cancer.
PanCAN PurpleStride is taking place on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.
Here’s where you come in!
We’ve set an ambitious fundraising goal – because the more money we raise, the bigger impact we make – and would be profoundly grateful for your donation. A gift of any size will help patients and families facing a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.
