Hi, I am Gary Walton, Captain of Don Bentley's SFAC.

In September 2024 my friend Don Bentley was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. His wife reached out to me because I am a PC survivor (2022.) When Don was diagnosed, the five year survivability rate for PC had increased to 13% more than doubling the rate from 2023. Sadly, Don lost his battle with PC on October 29, 2024. He was 65. Don was a father, grandfather, and loving husband. He was also just a really good guy. So as PanCAN Purple Stride approached this year I wanted to honor Don by participating in the Salt Lake City Purple Stride Event. So on Saturday, April 26, 2025 Team Don Bentley's SFAC will walk to celebrate Don and all others we have lost.

Our team wants to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and we need your help to do it!   

We’re taking steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.

Here’s where you come in! 

We’ve set a fundraising goal, and – because the more money we raise, the bigger impact we can make – we would be profoundly grateful for your donation. A gift of any size will help patients and families facing a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.  

Unfortunately recent events have led to or threatens the loss of continued and/or future funding for pancreatic cancer research. Just when we were making great strides in defeating this horrific deadly disease, funding restraints could lead to the loss of gains recently achieved. Therefore, any gift of any size will assist in funding important research.
