Welcome to Team Dorothy's Sunshine!
We are walking in memory of an extraordinary woman whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. My mother was a beacon of love, resilience, and selflessness. Even in the face of pancreatic cancer, her unwavering positivity and dedication to others never faltered.
She taught me the true meaning of strength—not just in enduring hardships but in embracing each day with gratitude and grace. Her ability to find joy in the simplest moments and her commitment to uplifting those around her continue to inspire me.
To honor Dorothy’s legacy of compassion, I am leading this team to participate in PanCAN PurpleStride on Saturday, April 26, 2025. I invite you to join us in this meaningful walk or support our efforts by donating to our fundraiser.
Pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, with a five-year survival rate of just 13% . This statistic underscores the urgent need for research and support, as countless families are deprived of precious time and cherished memories with their loved ones.
Your participation and donations directly contribute to:
Funding vital research for new treatment options.
Providing free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services.
Offering molecular testing and tailored treatment recommendations via PanCAN’s Know Your Tumor® program.
Advancing early detection methods and innovative treatments.
Here’s how you can make a difference:
Join our team for the walk on April 26, 2025.
Donate to our PanCAN PurpleStride fundraiser—every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to a cure.
Register for free and raise $50 or more by event day to receive an official PanCAN PurpleStride 2025 T-shirt—a symbol of your commitment to this cause. I treasure mine from last year and look forward to wearing it again this year.
Through this walk, we aim to honor her memory by raising awareness and funds to support pancreatic cancer research and patient services. Every step we take is a stride towards a future where no one has to endure the pain of losing a loved one to this disease.
Thank you for your support. Your generosity and solidarity mean the world to me and to all those impacted by this disease.
