Bill was diagnosed with early stage pancreatic cancer following a fall in 2022. Treatment began, and we soon learned just how hard the fight would be, despite it being caught so early. For two years Bill fought this diagnosis, and through surgical intervention and chemotherapy he beat it once. However in 2023 the cancer returned. This time more advanced. Despite this Bill continued to fight. He was determined to defy the odds, and did. Through this fight Bill taught each of us immeasurably valuable lessons, about strength, love and determination. He showed us just how important it is to never take a single breath for granted. Despite all his strength Bill lost his fight with pancreatic cancer on July 14th 2024. Bill is survived by his Wife and son, Donna and Adam O'Brien who hope for a breakthrough with pancreatic cancer research & treatment.
