Virtual PurpleStride Madison 2020 Presented by Dorf Haus

Thank you Virtual PurpleStride Madison 2020 participants for showing up and supporting pancreatic cancer patients and families in your own way!

In this unprecedented “Virtual Is the New Purple” season, we applaud your flexibility, tenacity and commitment to continuing to fight for patients and against this tough disease.

It’s the support of Striders in Madison and nationwide that gives pancreatic cancer patients and families FREE access to PanCAN’s Patient Services that can improve their lives — plus so much more.

It also ensures one thing is certain: during this time of uncertainty, patients can 100% count on PanCAN’s Patient Services being there for them.

Your fundraising is much appreciated. Please continue to do so as pancreatic cancer does not stop or slow down.

Get tips for virtual fundraising.

We hope you’ll connect with your local affiliate’s Facebook group, where you can share your fundraising ideas, meet other supporters and learn about events in your area. Please visit pancan.org to see the latest news on the fight against pancreatic cancer and purplestride.org for other events near you.

In 1989, Todd Horne lost his mother to the disease. Then in 2015, Todd was diagnosed with stage II pancreatic cancer.

Editor’s Note: Todd lost his fight with pancreatic cancer, but his story continues to inspire others to Demand Better for patients and their families.

We stride because it's what "Papa Z" would have done. Creating Team Papa Z has been one of the best decisions I've ever made.

We stride to make sure that other people have a chance, because a five year survival rate of 10 percent is unacceptable and because it's what "Papa Z" would have done.

Strider Stories

Serving as PurpleStride Team Captain of the Yes We Xan team has been a way for me to harness my energy to help my beloved son, Xan, fight pancreatic cancer.

There's a number of other terms I could use to describe myself and our pancreatic cancer journey. But these are primary, and this is the reason I'm sharing my story. Our story.

Like many others, my involvement with PanCAN began with the loss of a loved one. My brother, Jim, just three days after his 60th birthday and only 27 days after his diagnosis, passed away from pancreatic cancer.

In a world filled with many differences, an event like PurpleStride breaks down the differences and creates a strong bond for a cause.
