Warrior: fighter, hero or champion.

As most of you know, my Dad (George Bultman) was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on August 10, 2021 - the day he retired from work. After tests and procedures, he learned that the tumor was wrapped around some very important blood vessels, and he was given less than 9 months to live. For the next 3 months, he underwent the most aggressive chemo available with the hope to shrink the tumor and pull it away from those blood vessels. The tumor shrunk, but it was still too wrapped around the blood vessels to be removed. This news was hard, but the surgeon at Mayo assured us that this was just information that needed to be learned in order to put him on the right treatment path for him. We fought his local physicians that all wanted to put him in a box with the national pancreatic cancer statistics and pleaded with them to treat him as an individual - he is different. He is strong, active - and eventually changed their minds! For the next 9 months, he went through a different chemo regimen than the first that was still aggressive, but better tolerated. Then, in August 2022, he had a CT scan. He had prior CT scans, but this one came back and showed NO tumor in the pancreas. We couldn't believe it!  His oncologist had to call the radiologist to confirm the reading because she had never seen this before in pancreatic cancer patients. It's been a long battle, and there is still a strong possibility of floaters throughout the body, so he is continuing a maintenance chemo treatment while his doctors keep a close eye on his blood work. Dad is living proof that the power of positive thinking, love, hope and prayers go a long way, and he is currently living his best life. We'd love for you to join our Team in support of his journey and all others battling this horrible disease.
