As many of you know, in November 2000, a papillary cystic tumor was discovered on my pancreas.  Thankfully the cancer was detected early, localized and promptly removed; an absolute miracle! 

Unfortunately, my survival story is very unique; early detection being the primary unique factor.  Furthermore, Black Americans are more likely to be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer than any other racial or ethnic group.  For these reasons, I have made it a goal to be more intentional about my support for PanCAN.  I want to make a meaningful impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and I need your help! 

I will be taking steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.
