Welcome to our team fundraising page!

Welcome to Our PanCAN PurpleStride Team Fundraising Page! My name is Zoe Bremer and I am the Los Angeles PurpleStride Chair for 2025!

Our team wants to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and we need you to do it!

We’re taking steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.

I joined PanCAN a couple of years ago after moving from Oregon to Los Angeles in search of community and a manner in which I could honor my great-grandmother, my Inay, Carolina Puchero, who passed of pancreatic cancer in 1996. She was a kind, resilient woman whose positivity reached all of those around her. Carolina loved fiercely and cherished our family and her relationships. She was very patient, and she forgave freely. Not only was she a master of diligent, hard work, she excelled at upholstering furniture and baking. I’ve seen the way her loss has impacted my family and I wish I could bring her back, even for a few moments. That is why I Stride - in memory of my loving Inay.

In addition to my great-grandmother, I would like to honor the memory of my husband’s uncle, Roy Goto, who passed from pancreatic cancer in 2020. He was an exceedingly intelligent (he spoke 5 languages and knew history like no other person), kind man, who lived for his family and found joy in his children and grandchildren. He absolutely adored my auntie, Barbara Goto, for whom I Stride as well.

Since joining PanCAN, I have indeed found a community - a community of compassionate, spirited, committed individuals who have shown me there is indeed hope in combating this disease. It is a beautiful thing, to see our efforts help create hope for and help navigate pancreatic cancer with a widespread network dedicated to supporting patients, their caregivers, and their loved ones. I can only hope that I can contribute the same compassion, spirit and commitment that my fellow community members do each day.

I am excited for PurpleStride. I am excited to celebrate and cheer on those around me and experience the event we have been looking forward to for so long. In a time where our city is hurting, it is all the more important that we take this time to come together, support each other, and lean on one another.

I am proud to be part of PanCAN. I have found such joy from our Affiliate and PanCAN family and it is a privilege to serve as the Los Angeles PurpleStride Chair. Thank you for reading my story and I hope to see you at PurpleStride on April 26th, 2025!

We’ve set an ambitious fundraising goal – because the more money we raise, the bigger impact we make – and would be profoundly grateful for your donation. A gift of any size will help patients and families facing a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.
