In June it will be seventeen years since Jer was given the unbelievable diagnosis of stage four pancreatic cancer. How could a healthy, vibrant man have such an awful cancer growing within? He fought hard believing he could overcome it; however, it was not to be. By December he was gone. He is why I continue to be a part of Purple Stride.

Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 12%. However, over the years since Jer's death, that number has grown because of the support of many people.
