In May 2019, my dad was diagnosed with stage four, inoperable pancreatic cancer. I wish I would have known the warning signs. By the time we went to see a doctor, the cancer had already spread. What we thought was a pulled muscle was actually a metastatic tumor growing larger every day. Our entire family missed the warning signs. We were able to rationalize away my dad's weight loss, loss of appetite, and his flank pain. I am fundraising to help improve pancreatic cancer outcomes and education.
