DIY Fundraising for
Pancreatic Cancer Action Network
This golf outing is to honor a great person. Thomas Ackim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to way too many. Anyone will tell you that when you hung around my dad, you would be having the time of your life. It would be a matter of minutes till he had you laughing till you were crying. Tom Ackim was an avid hunter, fisherman, handyman, and sports enthusiast. He was a true Cleveland sports fan and stuck with them through the very few highs and the numerous and countless lows. At least he had his Ohio State Buckeyes to consistently bring him victories. Tom Ackim was always active, he was never someone that could just sit down and relax. He always had to be doing something. I know in his retirement, he would have spent his days golfing, fishing, hunting, and fixing several of his "million" projects he had on his list.
In the summer of 2024, my dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. We tried as a family to stay positive, knowing dad was going to fight this harder than anyone. Unfortunately, he was never given a fighting chance. Thomas Ackim passed away on 8/21/24 surrounded by his wife and kids.
With the help of my mom (Karen), my brothers (Nick and Shawn), and my cousin (Danny); I am starting this fund raiser and golf outing to honor a great man. The goal is to grow this every year into a big outing and an annual fund raising event.
With your support, we’re taking bold action to improve the lives of everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer.
Every dollar you give funds lifechanging programs and services for patients and their families. That means more patients can benefit from PanCAN’s free, one-to-one support and personalized information – resources that can make a real difference in their lives.
Please make a gift of any size to get my team one step closer to my fundraising goal and help PanCAN to create a world in which all patients with pancreatic cancer will thrive.
Patients and families need us now more than ever.
We are grateful for your generous support.
