In 2022, our family walked together at the Atlanta 2022 PanCAN PurpleStride, a national movement sponsored by the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. PanCAN is dedicated to improving the lives of everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer by advancing research, providing patient support, advocating for patients, and raising awareness. Through Purplestride, families like ours come together to honor loved ones, celebrate suriors and fuel progress toward better treatments and, one day, a cure.

We have this page in memory of Anthony "Tony" Brown, who was more than a pancreatic cancer patient - he was a father, husband, brother and friend to so many. Tony Brown spent 20 years on the NBA Court as a referee, respected for his integrity, strength and passion for the game.  Off the court, he was everything to our family. 

On april 30, 2021, Tony was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He battled with courage and grace for 538 days, until his passing on October 20, 2022. Those 538 days were a gift - made possible by the care of incredible doctors, resources and support. But we know too well that many diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer don't get nearly that much time. 

Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers. The overall five-year survival rate is 13%, and many stage IV patients survive only a few months after diagnosis. Tony's year and half fight was extraordinary  and shows how critical more research, better treatmetns and early detection are. 

Our team fundraising goal is starting at 5,380 = $10 dollars for the 538 days Tony fought.

We as a team hope to raise our fundraising goal as we approach PurpleStride. We talk for the families still fighting, for the loved ones we've lost, and for the future where no one has to say goodbye too to their dad, mom, sibling, or best friend. We walk together as TONY BROWN #6STRONG to carry forward his legacy of strength and perserveance.
